Hello parents and carers

This is to let you know about the steps I’m taking at Early Years Music Groups to address issue of the Covid-19 Coronavirus and to minimise the risk to the children and adults in our sessions.

If either you or your child are ill, especially with a temperature and a cough, please don’t come!

I can reassure you that my instruments and props are, and always have been, kept clean by washing or wiping and drying, as appropriate.

In the current situation, please help me to minimise sharing of instruments and props during the group, particularly if they put things in their mouth.

I’m following the news and advice from Government bodies and have been advised to share this message:

Parents and Guardians:  You should not be unduly worried about the possibility of your children catching the Coronavirus. There is no reason why your children should not continue to attend their early years, school or further education setting as normal.

The Government and NHS are well prepared to deal with this virus. You can help too. Germs can live on some surfaces for hours.
To protect yourself and others:
• Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze.
• Bin the tissue, and to kill the germs, wash your hands with soap and water, or use a sanitiser gel.
• If you have arrived back from China within 14 days follow the specific advice for returning travellers.
This is the best way to slow the spread of almost any germs, including Coronavirus. Find out more at
http://gov.uk/coronavirus

If you need help to make hand-washing more engaging for you child, you could try singing (to the tune of ‘Here we go round the Mulberry Bush’) ‘This is the way we wash our hands,’…etc. An extra opportunity for connection through the joy of music!
